Clean and Safe Protocols - June 2020Since 2007 our passion and commitment has always been to deliver the very highest levels of service. The well-being and safety of our guests and staff lies at the centre of everything we do. This remains our key objective and our recent period of closure has allowed us to build all-new initiatives which will allow us to continue providing the very best guest experience. The care and work behind the scenes has only increased as we look forward to welcoming back our guests with a range of new procedures to ensure our safety and hygiene measures exceed the highest standards. Monte Rei is proud to be certified as ‘Clean & Safe’ by the Portuguese Tourist Board.
Please find below a summary of measures implemented to achieve the safest environment and comfort for all.Date of ReopeningThe Golf Course reopened on 11th May 2020.
Resort Accommodation and Leisure facilities will reopen in full on 1st July 2020.Guest AccommodationAccommodation will have a minimum of 24 hours between one set of guests’ check-out and the following guests’ check-in, to ensure proper sanitization and aeration.ReservationsAll guest arrivals must have a fully confirmed reservation for their stay, and all resort facilities(golf, restaurants and leisure facilities) will also require booking in advance.Check-InOnly one check-in will be processed at a time. Reception areas and all high-frequency touch points will be cleaned in anticipation of welcoming guests.Physical DistancingSingle use PPE kits will be supplied to guests for use in areas where requested.Personal Protective EquipmentWe will be adhering to all government guidelines and ensuring the health and safety of all our guests and employee’s, we will be updating all relevant information via our website, social media channels to keep you up to date.Staff Training & WelfareAll staff members have received training on COVID-19 safety protocols. Each staff member will have a temperature check on arrival. If an elevated temperature is confirmed, they will immediately be directed towards appropriate medical care.Guest AccommodationCertified products are used by our staff members to clean guest rooms and all high-touch areas. Linen and laundry will be cleaned at temperatures above 60°.Bars & Restaurants on resortWe request table reservations in advance for all of our onsite restaurants and bars in order to ensure a safe seating layout for our guests. Additional exterior seating has been made available in order to accomodate guests while complying with safe distancing.In-ResidencediningWe have expanded our in-residence dining service and removed all service charges, and menus will be in all villas. Food will be delivered to your accommodation and left in secure packaging outside your front door.Leisure facilitiesCommunal pools can be used with restricted numbers of guests at any time. Social distancing must still be maintained when in and around the pools.
Two tennis courts are available; it is mandatory to pre-book to allow for cleaning of equipment and high contact surfaces.
Golf pre-booking is mandatory 24 hours in advance. Tuition is available but will require advance booking.
Children’s activities will be operating in outdoor spaces only. Pre-booking is mandatory, and a reduced number of children per activity will be required.
Our Gymnasium will be available upon reservation for a maximum of two people each session, with a limit of two hours per day. After each session staff will fully sanitise the spaceand equipment.
Wellness Classes will take place outdoors subject to weather. Timings will be advised and pre-booking mandatory as guest numbers per class will be reduced. Additional classes can be added upon demand.Local AreasLocal restaurants and cafes are open with reduced indoor capacity. Additional allowances forexternal terrace seating have been made available where possible. Bars and nightclubs are closed until further notice. Museums, churches and other cultural venues are open for visitors from 1st June.
Beaches are open from 6th June with reduced capacity. Social distancing between other beach users is in place in all areas. Reservations for beach loungers are available through our concierge. Water parks will open from 1st June with reduced capacity - advance bookingis necessary.
Local shops opened on 18th May. Shopping Centres will be open from 1st June.IMPORTANTGuests must NOT attend the facilities if they have been in contact with someone affected with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or if they are under a period of quarantine, or if they haveany symptoms, such as a cough, fever or breathing difficulties (either yourself, family or persons you share your residence with).
