Albano Lourenço

Executive Chef

Albano Lourenço is one of the most respected Chefs within the Portuguese culinary scene and was one of the first Portuguese Chefs to be awarded a Michelin star which he maintained for nearly a decade before joining Monte Rei. He currently holds the position of Executive Chef at Monte Rei, being responsible for the operation of the restaurants year-round with a special focus on Vistas, the resort’s Signature restaurant. Albano is focused on Mediterranean cuisine and he is true to his respect for the highest quality locally sourced ingredients, offering authentic culinary discoveries.



Bruno Flores

Director of Restaurants

Born in Tavira, Bruno started his career in the restaurant business early in his life. After a couple of years working in a local restaurant, Bruno’s will to explore the world inspired him to join the restaurant team in a 5 star cruise ship company where he remained for 2 years. After his first experience aboard a cruise ship, Bruno returned to his home town for another two years of work at a local 4-star hotel. In 2002, Bruno joins the restaurant team of The World Residences at Sea - a luxury ship with private onboard residences that continuously circumnavigates the world. During his 11 years working for The World, Bruno worked his way up from waiter to Restaurant Manager, holding this position for a number of years whilst managing four F&B outlets at the ship. Bruno is currently Director of Restaurants at Monte Rei and manages the three restaurants of the resort as well as the banqueting operation.



Nuno Pires

Sommelier

Nuno was born and raised in the capital of Algarve - Faro - and it was early in his life that he found his inclination for the restaurant business. Nuno attended several courses related to food & beverage at the Algarve Hotel School as well as in other accredited tourism institutions in the country. Nuno’s career has always been in high-end restaurants and bars, including 5-star hotels and casinos, in Portugal and abroad. During the past few years, Nuno has followed his true passion for wines and has specialised in wines and spirits, obtaining a Level 2 Award from the Wines & Spirits Trust. As a Sommelier at Vistas Restaurant, Nuno is very proud of portuguese wines, and he continuously strives to find the rising stars and the cult heroes of this extremely rich wine producing country.
